- Glasgow Prestwick Airport wins in three categories at Ayrshire Business awards
- Innovation win attributed to air cargo and logistics strategy
- Airport also named Ayrshire’s Growth Business of the Year and won the Resilience Award
Glasgow Prestwick Airport has won the Innovation Award award at the Ayrshire Business Awards thanks to its air cargo and logistics strategy.
This includes the cargo hub’s success in establishing and sustaining new China routes. Prestwick now has four cargo routes to China, including Guangzhou Baiyun International, Chengdu, and Shanghai and most recently a new Air China cargo route to Ürümqi Tianshan International Airport.
The airport also won another two awards at the event – Ayrshire’s Growth Business of the Year and the Resilience Award.

A statement from Glasgow Prestwick Airport said: “We’re extremely proud to have been named winners of Ayrshire’s Growth Business of the Year (51 or more employees), the Resilience Award and the Innovation Award at tonight’s Ayrshire Business Awards.
“Each award recognises a different part of our story – our growth, our ability to adapt and the new ways we are developing our business – but all three have one thing in common: the people behind Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
“This recognition belongs to teams right across the airport who work every day to keep Prestwick moving, support our customers and partners, and help create new opportunities for the airport and the wider region.”
